SC's best source for whole wheat!
"The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." John 6:33
Whole wheat bread is truly delicious. In fact, I can't imagine ever buying bread again. But as satisfying as it is, I eventually get hungry again. That's just the way it works. There is a bread, though, that satisfies the soul. When the disciples asked about it, "Jesus replied, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty,' " John 6:35. As hard as we try to satisfy ourselves, we never quite get it right. There's always something missing. We get hungry again. It's like making bread without yeast; there's just no life. God, the One who created us, loves us, and wants to spend forever with us, made a way to do just that. He sent His little Son, the Bread of Life, so that we could get to Him. We just can't do it ourselves. We can do all the nice things we can think of, never lie or cheat or steal. But in the end, it's like bread without yeast. It will never work. I just know that no matter how badly you want, even need it to turn out right, bread isn't bread without the yeast. There's just no other way. Eternal life is like that. Jesus told us how to get it: the only way. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me," John 14:6. It seems just as easy as adding a few Tablespoons of yeast to a bowl of dough. And it is! "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved," Romans 10:9. It seems too easy, too good to be true! Yeah, God's like that. I don't understand why He would love me that much. But that's okay. I don't understand how 3 Tablespoons of yeast transforms some flour and stuff into 5 loaves of beautiful, delicious, nutritious bread. But I love it! If you have any questions, email us. We'd love to introduce you to the Bread of Life!

In your mixer, combine the following. Turn off mixer and let rise to the top of the bowl:
Turn the mixer back on, add the following and knead on low for 10 minutes:
Turn dough out onto oiled countertop and divide into 5 equal parts. Form each into a tight ball and place in a greased 8" loaf pan. Let rise until center of loaf is just barely above the rim of the pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Shake loaf pan to loosen bread and remove immediately to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
Hint: I use this dough for pizza crust, cinnamon rolls, stuffed breads and more. Baked bread freezes great and tastes fresh when it thaws.
